Tax free Barbados shopping

What’s not to love about those four little words? One of the things Barbados is renowned for is its tax free shopping and people from all over the world grab deals here on their Barbados vacation.

Tax free shopping allows you to save a bundle on the items you may need.

Need clothes, a swimsuit, or even a surf board?

Well, with Barbados tax free shopping you can pretty much find anything you would find in the U.S or U.K.

As a shopaholic (recovering), I've learned to find great deals when I travel.  No reason why you shouldn't as well.

So if you are here for a visit and want to pick up souvenirs for friends back home or just mementos of your voyages then why not take a trip to some of our Barbados shopping centers located on either the west or south cost and shop away to your heart’s content.

Getting to your chosen shopping location can be half the fun.  Here are a few pictures of the main shopping location in Bridgetown Barbados.

Barbados shopping in Bridgetown

Broad Street in Bridgetown

This is the view from the top of Broad Street (The western end) looking towards the port.  You will find the Norman Center Mall, Cave Shepherd, and Harrisons.  Cave Shepherd is one of the best spots for duty free shopping and is the largest Barbados shopping mall in the country.  (It's really more of a large department store).

Cave Shepherd Barbados

This is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors.  For duty free shopping you're going to need your passport, airline or cruise ticket.  This proves that you're a visitor the island and qualifies you for duty free purchases.

Note that the  price tag on products contain both the local price and the duty free price.  The duty-free price will be the lower of the two.

Barbados Roadside Fruit Stalls

You can get great deals on exotic fruits on the side of the road.  You can find great fresh fruit this way.  Stop by when you see a roadside seller.

Barbados Tax Free Shopping

In general this allows you to shop for any imported goods and local Rum tax free.  Note that for alcohol and tobacco, you will not be allowed to take them with you at purchase.  Instead they will be delivered to the airport for you to pick up as you're leaving.  I'll be adding more tips to the this Barbados Shopping page.  Do stop back.
